Services > Our Process
To build a house you need a blueprint. To build a website or database you need a Design Specification. We use a four-step process to complete your project.

Step 1 – Discovery
It is important that we gain an understanding of your business, your website goals and the image you would like to portray. We accomplish this through a Project Profiler and an interview.
A. Project Profiler: We developed our Web Site Project Profiler to help you think through the various aspects of your site. When developing a site it is imperative to know the goal(s) of your site, what you would like to accomplish and how you will know it is successful. We also need to know information about your audience and the type of look and feel that appeals to you.
Project Profiler
Microsoft Word Format: Click here to download our Project Profiler in Microsoft Word format. Fill it out using your PC and email or fax it to us.
PDF Format: Click here to print the Project Profiler using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Complete it and fax it or mail it to us. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, get it here for free. |
B. Initial Interview: During our initial interview we get to know you, your business and clarify questions from the Project Profiler. This is also a good opportunity to ask us any questions about your site and/or our capabilities. It is important that your site match the rest of your image so we will ask to see current marketing pieces. This meeting will be 30 minutes to two hours in length depending on the depth of the site and the number of questions.
Fee: This initial meeting is free of charge.
Step 2 – Web Site Design Specification
Once we understand your goals and requirements we will put together a Design Specification. We include recommendations on navigation, page content, form designs and a site map.
Navigation: It is imperative that your visitors are able to find information quickly and easily. We will recommend ways to organize your information so that it is intuitive and easy to find.
Page Content: We recommend the kind of content to place on each page.
Form Designs: We will layout the fields we envision for forms or input screens.
Site Map: The site map is a visual representation of your site layout and flow.
Included in the design specification is a competitive analysis. We evaluate what others are doing to see what ideas can be incorporated into your site as well as what ideas we can improve upon.
Fee: $100 an hour for document research and preparation. The time needed for completion depends on the size and depth of the site. We can provide you with a time estimate once we complete our initial interview.
Step 3 – Proposal
Once the Design Specification has been reviewed and approved we have a solid base to estimate development time. We will provide you with a time estimate based in hours. Splish Interactive bills hourly for web development at a rate of $100 per hour. Invoicing is done weekly with a 15-day payment term. Step 4 – Site Build
